The Xerox WorkCentre XE90 Printer Cartridge Guarantees Wonderful Resolution For Any And All Documents

By Ben Pate

Taking a look at the Xerox WorkCentre XE90 printer reveals that one is looking at a fairly unique laser printer that is multifunction capable. This is because it also supplies a flatbed scanner and a fax capability, which can make it ideal for the needs of a small business. When it's not connected to a PC, it will work quite well as a stand-alone fax machine and copy machine. Xerox XE90 Printer Toner Cartridge ensures that each page is sharply professional in every application.

This particular unit from the people at Xerox isn't very cheap at nearly $3600. After discounts, though, one can find it new for anywhere from $2500 to $2900. It will put out printed product in monochrome black-and-white and will fit quite nicely on a desktop. Its'" x 17" x 12" dimensions will allow for it to be picked up and moved pretty much anywhere.

As far as print speeds go, this Xerox multifunction printer puts out pages at around eight ppm of product, which is fairly good as far as multifunction scope. It connects to a PC with industry standard wired technologies and can hook up to a network just as easily. It uses standard parallel ports for interfacing, which was what was offered at the time of release of this laser printer.

Resolution is more than acceptable at 600 dpi by 600 dpi for the kind of laser printer duties it is expected to handle. This particular model in the Xerox WorkCentre Toner line of machines does not offer PostScript support, but that's not a big deal. Paper size that can be handled is good, with it taking in up to 8. 5" x--" and all standard letter size paper in addition to legal and envelope sizes.

It can carry 250 sheets of paper in its single feeder tray, and the duty cycle comes in at around 1,500 pages. Also, this printer will come with one standard Xerox XE90 Toner good for around that amount. Capability wise, the fax machine supplied is standard at--.4 Kbps through a modem and the flatbed scanner is 400 dpi by 600 dpi on a single pass.

Time from print task to first copy of product emerging comes in at 10 seconds, which is more than adequate for multifunction all-in-one machines such as this unit. There are no expansion bays or slots, so keep that in mind when thinking about building on those units' already fine capabilities. Parallel ports are industry standard IEEE 1284, as is the modem connection, which uses standard phone line technology.

This particular Xerox multifunction laser printer operates using most Windows systems up through 2000, and it will also use Windows NT 4. 0. This can make it a decent candidate for small networks in a pinch. Standard one-year service and support agreements are included and an extended warranty can be had for a small additional fee.

As far as memory storage capabilities go, the fax machine included with this multifunction can hold up to 120 pages of incoming or outgoing faxes should it run out of paper while nobody is paying attention. It can do just about everything, allowing a person to print, scan and copy, while handling incoming and outgoing faxes at the same time. Also, a user can scan a document in and immediately fax it. - 22787
