Desktop Computers - Used Systems Makes Sense

By Matthew Kerridge

The words used desktop computers doesn't always mean these systems are running on their last leg. Computers that have been recertified and refurbished are also considered used because they are not new off the line from the manufacturer. Some, though, do have brand new pieces installed inside and in most cases work just as well as a new system.

When a desktop computer has been refurbished and recertified this means it has had a full check up and any and all problems that were found have been completely remedied. After they are repaired and are now back in operational order they are then sold back to the public with a new warranty that guarantees that they are in perfect working order. Refurbished models are the safest way to go when you are planning to buy a used desktop system.

A large selection of online websites that sell refurbished models can be found online with a quick search on Google. All of these sites sell systems that have been checked and repaired and are now in like new working condition. They can be found in prices going as cheap as $200 to $400 even.

Just a few of the top manufacturer names you will find when looking for these refurbished systems are names like Dell, Sony and Compaq. To find them all you have to do is get online and look.

Among the options you will encounter on these various websites is OEM versions of the different Windows Operating Systems. They are generally pretty cheap to buy and work great if you can install them yourself. OS installation is pretty simple.

Some times you just won't be able to find what you are looking to buy, but you can also buy additional CD drives and install them yourself too. IF you don't have a clue how to do this you can probably ask a friend who is computer savvy and have them do it for you for a small fee, if not completely free.

If your reason for wanting to get a new computer is a simple one, like watching movies, sending email or just listening to music then you can save a lot of money by buying a used desktop computer. It is always a lot cheaper to buy used in these cases and they serve the same purpose just as well. If you want to add extras to the system later on you can use the extra money you saved to do so. - 22787
