What You Should Get When Buying a New Dell Computer

By Jordan McPelt

In today's highly competitive market, Dell computers are known for their dependability, performance, and affordable value. By cutting out the middleman and selling factory direct, Dell has been able to provide their top featured computers, at the lowest and best prices on the market. Coupled with Dell now including free delivery, there's never been a more affordable computer company to purchase from.

Whether you're wanting desktops op laptops, for business or personal reasons, Dell has the right computers to fit your needs. With a selection of computers larger than most other computer companies out there, you're guaranteed to get just what you need, for an amazingly affordable price.

When buying a new computer, you should decide first what features you will need. You won't need a blazing fast computer with high performance hardware if you only plan on using it for casual Internet surfing and emailing people. One gigabyte of RAM memory, a CPU of around 1.5ghz to 2.0ghz, and a hard drive of 80GB to 100GB would be more than sufficient for your needs. You can save quite a bit of money purchasing a basic machine like this, which will do the job nicely without burning a hole in your wallet. Purchasing a used computer from Dell can also save you even more money, while still getting a quality machine from them.

If you plan to use your laptop or desktop for business purposes, you may want a faster processor and plenty of memory compared to a personal computer. You'll also want to purchase pre-installed software to handle your business requirements, which can include Microsoft Office, Quicken, and other business related programs for book keeping, payroll, and inventory. You won't require the latest top speed CPU, like the Dual or Quad core processors for most of your business purposes. A lower cost AMD or Intel CPU will suffice, and one gigabyte of RAM memory will handle any of your requirements with ease.

If you're looking more into buying a gaming computer, you will want to purchase a high end CPU with a lot of memory. The Dual and Quad core processors are designed to handle any gaming needs you put toward them, and it's also good to purchase 3 gigabytes or more of RAM memory to help handle the processing load. Anything lower and you'll experience slower action. You should also look into a Graphics card with at least 512mb of on-board GPU RAM memory.

A faster video card will allow you better graphics in your games. Two or more USB ports are also suggested, as well as a larger monitor for viewing preference. Regardless of your need, Dell can supply you with what you'll need for whatever requirements you have for your computer, whether its in the laptops category or the desktops. - 22787
