The Advantages of a Desktop Computer

By Jordan McPelt

Most people that are shopping for a computer are generally looking at laptops and won't even give the desktops a second thought. Everyone is so concerned about mobility and portability with their computing needs. The one thing that you might want to consider is what your needs are going to be. If you are not going to be doing your computing at a cafe, you might really want to take a look at a reliable desktop. Desktops are not as big and awkward as they used to be five years ago. Many companies are making their desktop models very compact and offer an incredible range of options.

There are tons of companies that still make desktop models, but one company that has really dominated the market is Dell. The Differences Between Dell Desktop Computers And The Competition will really make your choice an easy one. One of the main reasons that they are continuing to rule the market is because they are making desktops in a wide range of prices to suit any one.

Such a wide range of people can shop Dell computers and walk away with something to satisfy everyone. The casual computer user can get into a desktop model with minimal features and still have a great computer that they can use. On the other end of the spectrum, the high tech Internet guru can spend quite a bit of money, but have a wonderful desktop that will make any computer wizard jealous.

Another great thing about the Dell desktops is that the company will use the best processors in their computers, but you don't have to pay the premium price. Their standard processor is the new Intel Core i7 processor. Generally, you can get into a desktop for as little as seven hundred and ninety nine dollars. Compared to even five years ago, that price is a stellar deal. Because you can essentially custom tailor your own computer, you are paying for a bunch of features that you aren't using. You are strictly paying for the items that you are using and therefore can get quality parts and components for your machine.

Most other companies will not allow you to pick your options on your desktop, so then you are stuck paying the price the company sets and you might not even use a fourth of the features on your computer. Another down fall to other companies is that if you have a problem with your computer, you are out of luck. Most of their customer service support is hard to get a hold of. But at least with the Dell desktops, the service support is excellent. - 22787
