The Revolution In Computer Technology

By Kazu Oda

Have you seen the cell phones with a touch screen where you use them completely by touching a screen instead of by pushing buttons? Perhaps you even own one. Have you ever wished you could use your PC in the same fashion? Well, you soon may be able to do just that with the Microsoft Surface.

This revolutionary device may indeed have an impact on the world of computers in the same way that the iPhone and others have changed the way in which many of us use cell phones. We may soon order our food at a restaurant with just the tap of a finger rather than flipping through a menu. The possibilities are virtually endless.

The Microsoft Surface changes the way we use and interact with our computers. For everyday PC users, you can forget about your mouse and keyboard. The Microsoft Surface actually allows users to "grab" objects digitally with your hands and move information on the screen by using simple hand gestures and touches.

Everything is done on the large touch screen. It's kind of like having that touch screen on your cell phone, but the size of a table. Imagine how much easier it can be to share information with a group of friends. Sitting around a virtual coffee table is much easier than crowding around a laptop or PC screen.

For home PC users, the Microsoft Surface can be just as revolutionary. Just think, instead of having an obstructive desk with a computer tower, monitor, and keyboard (or a laptop) in your home-office, you would have something that resembles more of a coffee table.

It can also provide a much more interactive and user friendly way to deliver information to employees, co-workers, customers, etc. The ability for people to use, explore, and share information has never been easier.

In the business world, the Microsoft Surface will be even more revolutionary as it becomes more readily available. The ability for people to collaborate and share information within a business setting has never been easier.

Or how about being able to order a refill on your beverage with a tap of your finger, as the surface on the computer table below recognizes the beverage you initially ordered. Imagine the ability to work collaboratively with co-workers around a large computer screen, and the possibilities for sharing important business information. The practical uses for the Microsoft Surface are broad and may very well change the way in which we use computers. - 22787
