Lexmark Optra m410 - A Strong Device That Can Handle Anything

By Ben Pate

The Lexmark Optra M410 is much like any other laser printer outwardly. In fact, the only difference that can be remarked upon is its height. This is considerably taller than most, which can make for easier operation if positioned on a low cabinet next to the desk. What also helps with its practicality is the slight reduction in depth of the product, allowing it to be more flush with the lines of the other furniture. The printer uses Lexmark Optra m410 toner.

Despite being a substantial product, weighing in at forty pounds, the Lexmark Optra M410 remains surprisingly easy to maneuver. Indeed, whether setting up the unit for the first time, replacing the toner, or simply for standard maintenance and cleaning, most should be able to cope with moving it on their own. This excellent design continues to the control panel and the layout of all fundamental access areas.

Once positioned, there should be no time wasted in setting up the printer too. From taking it out of the box, installing the software and toner, to printing a test page should take little more than ten minutes. If you are still frustrated after this time, referring to the instructions should take you that final step! But seriously, such is the ease of use, reverting to the manufacturers manual may really not be needed.

The standard tray provided is capable of holding up to 350 sheets of standard letter paper. Feeding from the tray is smooth, though for those times when a tear causes a jam, the easy to read display points you to the error swiftly. The cabinet design is well thought, with wide opening doors allowing for easy access to the drum, and other problem areas.

Whilst resolution in printing has moved on considerably over the years, the quality produced by the Lexmark Optra M410 is very high. Printing in monochrome, an output of up to 12 pages per minute with a resolution of 1200dpi, (600x600), is produced. This makes for clear text definition, and a very good reproduction of photos and graphic images. Be sure to only use Lexmark Optra m410 toner with this product.

The Lexmark Optra M410 is provided out of the box with everything needed to get printing straight away. A 4MB memory should satisfy most needs, whilst compatibility with most operating systems, including Windows and Macs, is not an issue. Connectivity is wired, but does allow for USB connection, alongside parallel and serial ports. The printer also allows for printing on many forms of media. Obviously it allows for the standard sheets, envelopes and labels, but can also print to business cards and transparent sheets.

Installation of the ten thousand page yield Lexmark Optra M410 toner cartridge was also simplicity itself. This is not surprising, considering the user friendliness of the printer itself and the ease of operation it demonstrates right from the get go. - 22787
