By Anne Torres

It is a nice emotion when you acquire a new computer and it is so fast that you don't know what to do with yourself. Then, sooner or later, it will begin to slow down and you have no idea why.

I am going to go over a few things about fixing a slow computer and what the cause may be. There are several reasons a computer may be slow, but there are a couple of common things that are the usual culprit.

The primary reason is that you are blocked up with all kinds of temporary files. In order to get rid of them you need to clean them out of IE and get rid of all of your cached internet items. You can do this in Internet Properties.

You are as well required to run a scandisk and a defrag in the system tools menu. This will get your computer back to a state where you can start to work on the origin of the trouble.

The root of the problem is usually within the registry. When you install, uninstall, run, delete, etc anything, you will leave a string in the registry. If you are able to clean out all of these things in the registry that are no longer valid or are corrupted, you will be able to experience a fast computer again.

So, in order to fix your registry, you will likely need to get a piece of software designed just for that. There are many on the market these days, buy only a few work really good and are able to get rid of all of the errors.

The best way to fixing a slow computer is to fix the registry. A lot of times you will start to see unknown error messages pop up, start getting blue screens, dll errors, etc. If you are having any kind of computer slow down or errors, you can most likely find the problem in the registry. - 22787
