Gaming Laptops - A Gamers Dream Machine

By Matthew Kerridge

Gaming laptops are simply just laptops that are designed for enhanced gaming usage. When gamers are searching for a new machine to play on, these systems are what they want. However, the market lacks a variety of already built gaming systems, leaving gamers to have to order customized systems that come with their specified configurations. Standard notebooks often come with fast processing speed, good graphics cards, extended battery life and effective cooling units, but these are still looked over in favor of a system that is built to the gamers specifications instead.

How good your gaming experience will be and how well the game will perform are based upon the quality of the graphics card that you are using. Two names you will see often in this aspect is ATI and NVIDIA. A fast processing speed is also important. Pentium 4 Athlon processors are preferred by many gamers.

80 Gb of hard drive space is the minimum a gamer needs to be able to get the best performance from a game. They should also have at 5400 rpm hard disk speed, 7200 rpm is they are playing a 3D game. 3D games are extremely popular now.

While the internal configurations of these systems are very important, so is the display resolution and screen size. 15. 4 inches or bigger is best for a good gaming experience. The bigger the screen the better of course. A big screen helps you to move through the game easily without missing important information that has been displayed on the screen. It also lessens the strain put on your eyes that smaller notebook screens can only increase.

Display quality is very important as well for giving the gamer a good gaming experience. XGA and SXGA are best for getting the highest quality images. Newer models have moved on to even using liquid crystal displays (LCD) as well. Names like Sony, Toshiba and Panasonic are now producing monitors of the highest quality and catching the eyes of gamers looking to improve upon their gaming experience.

A large variety of cool designs are now offered to gamers as well. Market leaders in this field include Dell XPS, Hypersonic, Falcon Northwest and Alienware. Prices can range from as low as $2400 and upward, depending on what configurations the gamer has chosen.

Choosing a gaming laptop can be tricky. New generation systems are coming complete with dual core, larger storing capacity, more RAM, longer battery life, Bluetooth and even PCI Express. - 22787
