Your Free Dell S2500 Printer Basic Installation Guide

By Ben Pate

Everyone needs a great laser printer in today's world - no matter if it's for home, school, or work. And, just like with any printer, the Dell S2500 printer using Dell S2500 Toner Cartridge will have some installation and troubleshooting areas that you might face. But, these are never very hard to deal with, and with the right information you can easily clear up these areas and get back to work. Here is your free guide to some of the common areas that you will deal with on a Dell s2500 printer:

Optional Drawer Installation: There are two other drawers that you can purchase and install for your Dell S2500 printer. One is an extra 250-page drawer and the other is a larger 500-page drawer. To install these, you need to do a few things first. Make sure that you have disconnected the printer from the network and other computers, then turn off the power, once the power is off you want to unplug it from the source. Now, you simply follow the instructions for the drawer and you are ready to go.

Memory Card Installation: If you need to install a memory card for your Dell S2500 printer, simply purchase the right one and you can easily install it on your own. When you are buying your card, you want to make sure that it has 100-pin connectors and that it is a printer card or a flash card. You want to make sure that you don't have any static electricity built up as it can wipe out these cards, so touch something metal before you touch the card itself. Then, take the card out, open the top of the printer by using the latches on each side, and then push the memory card into place until you feel it "snap". Now, close the top cover and you're finished.

Raise the Paper Rest: This is probably the easiest thing to do on the Dell printer. Simply pull the paper rest out and forward to the height that you want and you are done. You can adjust the paper rest height so that papers don't fall to the floor if multiple jobs are completed at once and the papers stack up too high.

Operator Panel Overlay: The operator panel overlay is used for those who don't speak English as a first language or prefer a different language for your printer's buttons. To install the Dell S2500 printer operator panel overlay, simply peel off the backing on the overlay and line up the holes on the overlay with the buttons on the printer's control panel. Press the overlay firmly into place and you are all set.

Side Cover Removal: There are several times that you might have to remove the side cover on this Dell printer, such as to replace the S2500 Toner or clear a paper jam. Simply open the upper front door and the multipurpose door by pressing the two tabs. Then, slide the side cover off of the back side of the printer. You'll then be able to put the memory card in, change cartridges, or clear paper jams.

Removing the Shield: Under the side cover on the Dell S2500 printer is the shield that you might have to remove from time to time. After you have removed the side cover, you simply loosen the six screws that you will find under the cover, but don't completely take them out. Then, slide the shield over toward the left until the screws fit into some tiny holes on the cover. Once they do, you will be able to pull the shield out.

And, those are the normal installation and areas that you might have to fix or deal with on your Dell S2500 printer. As you can see, these are extremely easy, which makes this printer one of the best smaller laser printers out there for your budget and computer knowledge. - 22787
